Event organizers are expecting a full house when Chiefs and Black Leopards kick off the tournament at 10h00 hrs on Saturday morning, they will then be followed by a match between Dynamos and Mozambican side Costa Do Sol which will be at 12h00. The winners of the two semi- final games will then contest the final to be held later in the day at 17h00, in between the second semi final and the final the crowd will be kept busy with a number of performances.
Amakhosi coach Ernst Middendorp believes his team are well prepared for this weekend’s tournament and will be using the event to blood new talent.
“We have been hard at work for the new season, now we get the chance to really test how our initial preparations have been. From this weekend’s games we will be able to see how fit or unfit we are, and what are our strengths and weaknesses”.
The Chiefs headman believes that playing Black Leopards will help provide the team with a yardstick in order to determine their preparedness “Leopards are a tough team who always make you fight all the way for a result. I am happy to be playing against such a team first up because it will give us an insight into our physical strength” added the Chiefs coach.
These games will also give the coach the opportunity to see his new signings out on the field of play,
“I have been working with the new guys for the past two weeks and they have really impressed me. Chances are that they will all see some action over the weekend. By giving them all some game time I can really get to see them in a real match situation which will help them and I” added Ernst.
