As the grand stand at the Kaizer Chiefs village was packed to the rafters with visiting school kids who had the opportunity to see for the first time their favourite players and role models up real close!
Learners from the Elliot Ndabankulu Junior Secondary School from the Eastern Cape countryside whistled and cheered as they watched with enthusiasm as coach Ernst Middendorp put his charges through their paces.
An educator with the group Sizwe Shumani added, “we made this booking in August, and since then the kids have been excited by the thought of coming here.
Apart from the learners,I think some of the teachers ,especially our female colleagues, have been flustered by meeting the likes of Arthur Zwane and Rowen Fernandez”.
Upon arrival at the village communications manager Thebe Mohatle first gives learners a brief history of the club and the day-to-day itinerary of the players before getting to watch the session.
Many children are still giving their families, friends and anyone that will listen – a moment by moment detail of all they saw today.
