Amakhosi set to dim the Stars!

Log leaders Kaizer Chiefs are hard at work doing everything possible to increase the Castle Premiership log gap at the top of the table, at the expense of their Saturday guests, Silver Stars who they host at the Soccer City stadium at 4pm.

With the exception of David Kannemeyer who is receiving attention from the club’s physios for a minor knock, Amakhosi coach Ted Dumitru will be spoilt for choice, particularly that the club’s midfield sensation Jabu Pule will also be available for selection after his one month suspension following an Awol case earlier this year.

"The search for three points is on. The stage is set for another onslaught to try and get closer to the dream of the people and celebrate the 10 years of our democracy in style, and the Stars will go dim at the FNB stadium," said an enthusiastic Putco Mafani, the club’s spokesperson.

Mafani said the subject of Chiefs ending the drought of the Castle Premiership title was the most talked about subject at the club’s stand during the Rand Easter Show. "People are literally begging us to surge forward and march with dignity towards the championship and we don’t want to let them down, at least not when they celebrate the country’s 10 years of democracy. We want to win it and dedicate it to the majority of the people of South Africa. We want it badly," added Mafani.

Anticipating a big crowd the club has decided to pre-sell tickets at the Computicket outlets for R20 adults and R10 juveniles, as of Monday, 19 April and will also sell on match day at Gate A opposite the Soweto Highway and Gate H opposite the Iwisa tower and Nasrec exhibition grounds.

There will be plenty of entertainment before the main game, as Rand Show favorites, the Chiefs celebrities will dazzle the crowds with their touch of entertaining football, and some music, courtesy of Sony Music.

Amakhosi are on top with 54 points from 23 outings.
