The Premier Soccer League game between Kaizer Chiefs and Lamontville Golden Arrows, pencilled in to be played at the Kings Park Soccer Stadium in Durban on the 1st of October has had a venue change.

With the game originally scheduled to take place at the Kings Park Soccer Stadium close to the Durban CBD, it has had to be moved as the stadium has been demolished. The stadium has been demolished to allow for construction of a brand new stadium on the same site, the new stadium will be one of the venues for the 2010 FIFA World Cup to be held in South Africa.

Instead the match will now be played at the Chatsworth Stadium in the Durban Suburb of Chatsworth, the Chatsworth Stadium was once the home of inaugural PSL Champions Manning Rangers. Rangers owners sold the club a few seasons ago and the new owners moved the team to the Western Cape, Rangers were relegated from the PSL at the end of the 2004 – 2005 season.

Arrows and Chiefs did play each other in a league game at the Chatsworth Stadium in September 2003 in a game, which ended in a 1-1 draw; Chiefs took the lead as early as the third minute in that game. Thanks to a Jabu Pule goal, Arrows did manage to fight back and found a late equalizer, in the corresponding fixture last season Chiefs defeated Arrows 3-1 in Durban a victory which marked The Amakhosi’s first ever away win against Arrows since the 2000 – 2001 season when Arrows first competed in the PSL.
