Stuart Baxter said that he is worried about the rhythm ahead of the Absa Premiership encounter against Black Leopards on Saturday, 15 September 2012.
The league went on recess last weekend due to Fifa calendar as a result the Glamour Boys played their last competitive game on the 1st day of the month away to Free State Stars.
“I am concerned about the breaks because the team can lose the rhythm. We have to get back to our rhythm on Saturday and this can be a challenge,” said Baxter speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Thursday afternoon.
Baxter believes that Black Leopards will be a tough opponent; “They have not lost any game since the start of the season and they have been doing well. They will not want to come to Soccer City and lose the game for the first time so we are expecting a fight from Black Leopards.
“One of the things I have noticed since returning to South Africa is that compared to the last time I was here with Bafana Bafana most PSL teams including Black Leopards now aspire to be on top. They are pushing themselves little bit more and playing against a team that is currently on top they will be more motivated.
“I do feel though despite the challenges we experienced last week with the weather and the players who were called up to the squad that we will be ready come Saturday.
I had an opportunity today to speak to all the players about our game against Free State Stars and also the upcoming game against Black Leopards. We all know what is expected of us and we will give our best playing in front of our home crowd.
“We will have another training session on Friday evening to try to better what we have been doing well and of course pay attention and try to improve the areas where we have not been doing that well.
Games between the two sides show that the Glamour Boys have an edge on this fixture having won seven, lost five and drawn four in 16 encounters played since 2001/2002 season. The Glamour Boy’s biggest win against Black Leopards came back in 2003/2004 season with legend, John Shoes Mosheou grabbing a hattrick in a 5-0 drubbing.
