Stuart Baxter said he was expecting a tough game on Saturday, 06 October 2012 when the Glamour Boys welcome Bloemfontein Celtic at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Celtic are on a high after bringing down Orlando Pirates in Bloemfontein last weekend; “They will come with a mentality that they got three points against Orlando Pirates and why not against Chiefs? They will want to have a go at us and be the first team to beat us in the league this season,” said Baxter speaking of Celtic.

“I watched their game against Orlando Pirates and they played with lot of energy. We need to make sure we match them and our game plan is strong. We need to carry on where we left off against Chippa United last weekend but we know it will not be easy,” said Baxter.

Baxter will be hoping his midfield kingpin Siyabonga Nkosi is ready to face his former side; “We have been losing players in almost every game but the boys have responded well. We have faith in the squad. It would be good to welcome Siya (Siyabonga Nkosi) back in the team. He will not be rushed back to action so we will assess him towards the end of the week the same goes to (Reneilwe) Letsholonyane.

The Briton added that he was “pleasantly surprised” in the manner in which his charges have responded to his philosophy as a Coach. Chiefs are top of the Absa Premiership with 16 points after six games.

“It usually takes a while to coach players telling them what they are not doing right. They have managed to get the structure right without compromising their creativity and for this I am pleased.

“They have been total professionals in training and in matches. Each player on the pitch and those who have not been getting chances to play has been phenomenal and I am pleased to be working with this group of dedicated players,” added Baxter.

Kickoff for the game is at 18:00.
