Stuart Baxter insisted on Friday afternoon that his side is going to give Chippa United the respect they deserve when they come to Soccer City Complex on Saturday, 29 September 2012.
Chippa registered their first win in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday when they beat Bloemfontein Celtic by 2-1.
“We have seen two of Chippa United’s games, it is clear that they can never be underestimated. They will come to Soccer City this weekend with full confidence; they deserve respect and we will give them the respect they deserve,” said Stuart Baxter who has become a fan favourite after taking over the coaching reins at Naturena towards the end of June.
The Briton was philosophical about the injury woes that have seen him losing the services of several key players like Morgan Gould, Siboniso Gaxa, Siyabonga Nkosi and Jimmy Tau who is not yet “100 %”.
“There is a saying that goes; In every problem there is a gift and you just have to find it,” he told kaizerchiefs.com with a smile on Friday afternoon.
“It was sad to lose Pa (Gaxa). It does not look good at all. His foot is swollen and we looking at him being out for four weeks.
“Siyabonga will still be out for this weekend. Jimmy Tau’s injury is almost rehabilitated, but now there is a complication with his toe and he will have to go for an assessment.
“The squad is a little bit stretched but we are approaching this game with a positive attitude. We have shown a lot of character in the past couple of games.
“We are playing at home and we want to keep the momentum,” concluded Baxter who on Friday afternoon took time to watch the Chiefs U17 in action against Stars of Africa.
Kickoff for the game is at 20:15.
