Ever wondered what it would be with the Chiefs team as they prepare for a ‘big game’? The air filled with talk about the upcoming clash, dreamt about seeing them go through their paces as they prepare to face English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs. Here’s your chance.

As Kaizer Chiefs and their sponsors Vodacom on Friday launched an innovative new competition which will allow a fan to win the ultimate prize as they will get the opportunity to spend a day with the Amakhosi in the lead up to their Vodacom Challenge encounter against English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 16th July.

By sending and SMS to 30699 with the words Kaizer Chiefs fans will be in line to get to spend time with Chiefs as they prepare to take on Spurs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, the Amakhosi’s Lawrence ‘Tlou’ Molekwane is urging fans to enter so that they can feel the excitement of preparing for a big game.

“Fans ask me all the time what is it like before a game, what kind of training regime do you go through and many other questions. Now is their chance to experience all of the magic of getting ready to face one of the most well known club sides in the world, whoever wins will have a magical time and will be treated to the ultimate fan experience and I can assure you of that”.

Amakhosi brand manager Dara Carroll is just as enthusiastic about the concept and hopes that fans will take to the idea of being one of the team, “this fantastic idea has been drawn up to take the fan experience to a new level and it is bringing the old concept of fantasy football to life.”

The Vodacom Challenge which has been in existence since 1999 and has traditionally been played in the off season makes it’s come back after an absence in 2010 as a result of South Africa’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup a year ago.

Chiefs won the 2009 edition defeating English side Manchester City in the Final and will be looking to hold onto their crown, having lost both of their previous meetings against Spurs, one of which was during the 2007 Vodacom Challenge Chiefs will be looking to avenge those defeats. Perhaps you could bring the luck that has evaded the Amakhosi in their two previous outings against the North London Club.
