Philani Cele scored a brace as Kaizer Chiefs came from 2-0 down to force a draw against Moroka Swallows in the Gauteng Reserve League fixture played in Delville Sports Ground, Germiston on Monday afternoon, 14 January 2013.

Swallows took the lead in the first half through a well taken goal from Mpho Maleka.

Chiefs featuring a development side came back strongly towards the end of the second half first with Andile ‘Eto’o’Nqabeni’s shot going inches wide following a superb pass from Tshidiso ‘Steja’ Letsholonyane.

Nqabeni who was giving Swallows Rudi Isaacs and company problems came close few minutes but again watched his shot going agonisingly wide.

Jauden Smith was at his best as he pulled a point blank save to deny Bongane Thwala just before halftme. Halftime score was 1-0 to Swallows.

Smith was at it again denying Bongane Thwala at the start of the second half but soon the young Chiefs regrouped with Philani Cele, Sandile ‘Tax’ Mtshali and Tshidiso Letsholonyane seeing more of the ball in the middle of the park.

But it was Swallows who had fielded the likes of Joseph Makhanya, Macbeth Sibaya, Rudi Isaacs, Mpho Maleka, Dikgang Mabalane, Lefa Tsutsulupa (who came as a substitute) who grabbed the second goal of the match against the run of play through striker, Shane Cisse.

Philane Cele took matters into his own hands as he scored a well taken brace to give Chiefs Reserves a point. The second goal was classic with one minute left on the clock; Cele received the ball inside the box on the right and beat a string of Swallows defenders before placing the ball at the back of the net to the delight of his teammates, Technical Team and fans alike.

The match ended 2 all.
