The in-form Zambia international striker Collins Mbesuma scored the first goal after two minutes of play and it seemed it would be an easy victory for the Amakhosi. However, he managed to score an equaliser late in the game to salvage a point for the hosts.
Mlungisi Gumbi found the net 10 minutes after Mbesuma with a tame long-range effort that evaded Chiefs number one Rowen Fernandez.
The first half ended at 1-1.
Referee Charl Theron awarded a penalty after a robust challenge by Fabian McCarthy on the tricky Siphesihle Ngobese. Thiyekile Gulwa then stepped up to the spot and sent Fernandez the wrong way and his team into an unlikely lead in the 56th minute.
The league champions then went on a rampage and attacked the hosts' goal mercilessly.
Emanuel Ngobese whipped in a corner kick which connected with the head of Mbesuma who made no mistake as he directed the ball past Davies Phiri, the Arrows keeper.
Mbesuma's brace saw him register his sixth goal of the season
and now joins Lungisani Ndlela of Moroka Swallows as the leading
Castle Premiership goal scorers.
Chiefs remain in fourth place on the table. They recorded their
second draw from seven matches while Arrows, who are perched 12th,
registered their fourth draw from 10 games.
