The Phefeni Glamour Boys will be looking to bounce back at the expense of Ajax Cape Town when the two sides square up at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday, 04 December 2012.
Tickets for the highly anticipated fixture are already on sale at Shoprite/Checkers and Computicket outlets nationwide selling for R40 adults.
Kaizer Chiefs have dominated this fixture in particular at Peter Mokaba Stadium as the Cape Town based outfit has in the past two seasons left the town with their tails in between their legs.
Back in 2010/2011 season with Ajax Cape Town poised to win the league they went to Polokwane needing a win against the Glamour Boys to win the first league title. However they found the Amakhosi in a rampant mood thrashing Ajax 4-0. Chiefs also won the fixture last season at the same venue.
Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung said the team is focusing on the job at hand and is not thinking about the past results between the two sides.
“The game on Tuesday is a different ball game all together. Preparations for the fixture have gone well and the team is fired up to bounce back following the loss against Platinum Stars. We are also not taking their position in the league into consideration as we know what potential this Ajax team has. They will also want to cause an upset and climb the league table.
“We want to start December on a high note and give our supporters something to smile about during the Festive Season break. The spirit in the team remains high and the team is focusing on Reclaiming the Glory,” added Jessica Motaung.
Corporate Communications Vina Maphosa added saying; “This is a massive game for us and this has been demonstrated by the number of supporters who came through to the Village this week either to renew their membership or buy the Club’s merchandise. This to us has demonstrated a sign of confidence that the supporters have on the team despite the loss we suffered at our last game.
“We will give Ajax Cape Town the respect they deserves as visitors but that is where it all ends. We would like to urge our supporters as far as Bungeni and Venda to come in numbers and support the team. Let us wear our authentic gold and black regalia and bring our Vuvuzela’s and kick start the festive season on a high note,” added Maphosa with supreme confidence.
There will be entertainment before and at halftime and fans are expected to walk away with prizes courtesy of Club’s main sponsors, Vodacom.
Kick off for the game is at 19h30.
