It was the goals from Jabu Pule (two), Kelvin Mushangazhike and Phumlani Mkhize that confirmed Chiefs' dominance on the night.
But Hellenic, who scored first through Warren Buwde, had a good first half and should have gone into the interval leading had lone striker Desmond Chauke scored with Rowen Fernandez bemused.
In the second half, Chiefs bombarded Hellenic on the 18-yard line, but found young goalkeeper Alfred Moathlodi in an uncomprising mood.
But as Chiefs relentlessly kept up their attack, they finally scored their scond goal through substitute Mushangazhike, who received a square ball from Stanton Fredericks with his first touch after only a minute on the field.
Chiefs increased their score through Pule, whose long range shot outside the 18-yard area found the back of the net after Moathlodi failed to punch the ball.
Once more Pule confirmed his class when he finished off a move by Shaun Pernell three minutes before fulltime.
The goal was as a result of Robert Nauseb unnecessarily dribbling the ball inside 18 yards. Pernell won possession and quickly parlayed the ball to Pule, who finished off.
Victory for Hellenic was of little consequence to the Cape Town team as they are already ensured of maintaining their Premiership status.
For defending Top Eight champions Chiefs, however, Saturday's win was vital in pushing the glamour Johannesburg club into the top eight on the log.
This game marked former Liverpool goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar's final farewell to his playing days.
Grobbelaar, the player-coach with Hellenic, celebrated his official retirement by guarding the Greek Gods' goalposts for the first 18 minutes of Saturday's match.
During this spell he won two one-on-one saves against Arthur Zwane and Mkhize at close range.
Grobbelaar joined Hellenic midway through the season after a stint with Pretoria side Supersport United, whom he saved from relegation last season.
Since taking over the reins at Hellenic, he has ensured his new team another stay in the top flight.
