David Mathebula has backed his former teammates at Kaizer Chiefs to win the Absa Premiership this season.

Now at Moroka Swallows, David Mathebula who spent six seasons with the Glamour Boys winning the league back in 2004/2005 season was speaking to kaizerchiefs.com following the 3-0 defeat on Saturday evening at Soccer City Complex.

“Chiefs have always been a great side and there is no doubt that they are strongly challenging for league honours again this season. They can definitely win it,” said the player known in football circles as ‘DVD’.

On the Saturday’s game, DVD felt that Chiefs were ‘better’, “We played well on the day but Kaizer Chiefs were better than us especially in the middle where they dominated. We will go back to the drawing board to rectify our mistakes,”

Mathebula took time to pay tribute to the Club; “I had great six seasons with the Club and I would like to thank everyone at Naturena for making my stay such a memorable one.”
