Kaizer Chiefs has continued to beef up the defence following the signing of former Moroka Swallows left back, Keegan Ritchie on a 3-year-deal.

In May Chiefs announced the departure of Valery Nahayo and his departure was countered with the signing of Tefu Mashamaite, Brett Lawler. Both players play at the back.

Football Manager Bobby Motaung expressed his delight of securing the services of the highly rated 21-year-old who can also play in the midfield and on the wing.

“We had been following Keegan Ritchie from last season even the Coach was impressed with him.

He is versatile and can also play in the centre. We identified the defence as one of the departments to strengthen for next season as we hope to bring more silverware to the Club. I would like to welcome Keegan to the Club and wish him all the best.”

“I would like to thank Moroka Swallows for their professionalism throughout the negotiation process. The player still had a contract with Swallows,” added Motaung.

Born in July 1990, Keegan Ritchie who has few times been invited by Bafana Bafana Coach, Pitso Mosimane to the national set up is a third signing for the Amakhosi ahead of the 2011/2012 season
