Kaizer Chiefs will host arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in their eagerly awaited Nedbank Cup semifinal clash at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 6 May with kick-off set for 15:00, Chiefs will be looking to pass their township rivals and reach what will be a record-stretching 20th appearance in the final since their first back in 1971.

Amakhosi, 13 times winners of the Nedbank Cup have reached the semifinals for the first time since 2018-19, and Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane is looking ahead to this mouthwatering clash.

“To win cups you must be confident in your abilities and confident when you face the big teams. We very much are. This game also has a lot of history attached to it, I faced them in a cup final as a player, which we won, and hopefully, we can repeat the result from the 2006 final,” he says.

This will be the 21st meeting in the Cup between the two rivals since 1971, with Chiefs winning 10 of the previous clashes. Pirates have five wins, and there have been five draws.

The other semifinal between Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune will take place on Sunday, 7 May, at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch. Kickoff will be at 18:00.
