Chiefs get a warm welcome in Durban

Kaizer Chiefs was welcomed with song, dance and Vuvuzela as they touched down at King Shaka International Airport, Durban on Friday afternoon ahead of their Nedbank Cup Last 16 encounter against Polokwane City at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 16 March 2013.



The team led by Football Manager, Bobby Motaung, Team Manager Gerald Sibeko, Head Coach Stuart Baxter and Captain Itumeleng Khune mingled with the supporters who were happy to see their heroes for the first time in 2013.



Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung speaking to kaizerchiefs.com explained the importance of the culture of meet and greet; “We have a very close relationship with the supporters and the welcoming is designed to give supporters an opportunity to mingle with players and vise versa. The welcoming in Durban was a success and the message is clear from the supporters that they are behind the Head Coach, Stuart Baxter and the players.



Corporate Communications and Public Relations Manager, Vina Maphosa was pleased with the proceedings; “The players were moved by the reception from the supporters in Durban. It is clear to see why the City is referred to as South Africa’s Play Ground; the passion for football here and in particular Kaizer Chiefs is something we appreciate as the Club.



“Tickets for the game are selling fast for R40 adults and R10 juveniles and we are hopeful tomorrow that we will paint Moses Mabhida Stadium gold and black. We call all the fans to wear the home jersey in support of My Colours Are My Life Campaign we running as the Club. Let us continue to rally behind the team and be the 12th men on the pitch,”
