Sthembiso Ngcobo speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday has hailed Club’s quality this season and believes that the Club is destined for greater heights.
The towering striker who was a hero back in 2010 when his brace inspired the Glamour Boys to an emphatic 3-0 win over arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Cup final at Soccer City has seen less game time this season due to the display of form by the trio of Bernard Parker, Kingston Nkhatha and Lehlohonolo Majoro.
He has featured once this season as a substitute against Mamelodi Sundowns in the Absa Premiership back in August.
“I have been working hard in training and have been getting a lot of support from my teammates and of course the Technical Team.
“Bernard Parker, Majoro (Lehlohonolo), Nkhatha (Kingston) have been in superb form since the start of the season and they deserve their place in the team. The quality upfront has given the Technical Team options as we are all different.
“I have no doubt that in the Premiership we have the most quality when it comes to strike force. The competition is fierce among us and this reflects on the number of goals we have scored which is good for the team.
Ngcobo also backed Head Coach Stuart Baxter, “He is definitely one of the reasons the team has been doing well. The Coach is top class. The fitness level of the players has also been good and credit should go to our Conditioning Coach, Josh Smith,” continued Ngcobo.
“I still believe despite being knocked out of MTN8 and Telkom Knockout early this team is destined for bigger things.
“I am happy with the way things have turned out for the team. I am not going to start putting pressure on myself and the Coach to play me. I just have to keep on working hard. The team is doing well and the guys know that they have my support every time they run on the pitch. This has been the attitude from everyone at Chiefs this season; it is all about the Team,” added Ngcobo.
