After eliminating Stellenbosch from this season’s Nedbank Cup with a 3-1 thumping in Gqeberha on Saturday night, Amakhosi are now shifting their focus back to the Betway Premiership as they prepare to welcome Cape Town City FC to the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
Chiefs will be looking for a win against City after losing their first round match played at the beginning of the year in Cape Town.
Before Saturday’s Nedbank Cup match, Chiefs beat Magesi 1-0 at FNB Stadium in their last league encounter. The Citizens, on the other hand, are very desperate as they have not won in eight matches, with their last win coming on 17 January.
On the log Chiefs are in eighth position with 28 points after 20 matches and the Citizens are 10th with 22 points after playing 21 games.
Amakhosi will need to pick up maximum points from the two home games as they want to ensure that they collect as many as possible to improve their position in the log standings.
Tickets for the match are on sale through the Kaizer Chiefs website, www.opentickets.co.za, https://www.stadiummanagement.co.za/tickets, including Shoprite and Checkers at R60 per ticket.
Wednesday’s game against the Citizens will kick off at 19:30 at FNB Stadium.
