Fresh from Cape Town, where they played Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup in a sold-out fixture on Wednesday night, Amakhosi now turn their focus to continental competition. This weekend, the team heads to Polokwane to face Egyptian side Al Masry in their penultimate Group D clash of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup. The encounter is set for the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

The two sides previously met in Egypt in November, where Al Masry claimed a 2-1 victory in their first group stage match. This time, Chiefs will need a 2-0 win to secure their passage to the quarterfinals ahead of their final group fixture against Zamalek next weekend in Cairo.

With both Chiefs and Al Masry locked on seven points after four rounds of clashes, the stakes could not be higher. Victory would lift Amakhosi to 10 points and put them in a commanding position.

Elsewhere in Group D, leaders Zamalek, who sit on eight points, will take on Zesco United. The Zambian side is still searching for their first point after four outings.

Before the match on Sunday, Amakhosi are scheduled to visit Mphakani Village in the Greater Giyani Municipality where the Club and its sponsors and partners will lend a helping hand to victims of the recent floods that took place in the area of Giyani. The event will take place on Friday morning with the Premier of Limpopo and local government officials in Polokwane, Giyani and the Mopani district in attendance.

The blockbuster match at the New Peter Mokaba will take place on Sunday at 3pm.

Tickets are sold at Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers for R80.
