In another announcement made at the media conference on Monday, South African Airways, in conjunction with the PSL, will bus at least 100 youths to any of their SAA Supa 8 matches due to start across the country next month.
Andile Mabizela, SAA executive vice president Commercial, said at the Kyalami Theatre of Tracks that the youths would be selected and bussed to any of their seven matches due to start in August.
Chiefs face Leopards
The second match will feature SuperSport United at home against Cape Town Santos at probably the Securicor Loftus Stadium in Pretoria on August 15.
The third game sees Kaizer Chiefs at home to Black Leopards on August 21 and the fourth game features Moroka Swallows at home against Ajax Cape Town on August 22.
Dan Leboa, the PSL general manager also explained that the SAA Supa 8 Cup organizing committee was awaiting a decision of a special general meeting where a decision would be taken regarding the gold and silver goals.
At the moment, Fifa intends abolishing both silver and golden goal rules but due to the fact that in terms of the rules and regulations governing the local game, the current constitution can only be amended at a special general meeting.
"The PSL will hold a special general meeting on August 1," said Leboa. "And only then can a decision regarding the rules be ratified and thankfully, the tournament is only due to start on August 14 and by then we will know whether the rules shall be changed or not.
SAA have increased the total prize money for the tournament to R3.7-m. The champions will take home R1.3-m on October 2. Sadly, defending champions Jomo Cosmos will not be able to defend their trophy after failing to qualify.
