Chiefs juniors face Birmingham in Milk Cup

The junior side left for Northern Ireland on Wednesday where they will fly the Kaizer Chiefs flag in the annual Milk Cup -renown as "the competition that makes your heart beat faster".

The Amakhosi Development side get their Milk Cup campaign underway on Northern Ireland side County Tyronne on Saturday at Dungannon Swifts. The juniors will then play Republic of Ireland side Dundalk on July 21 before rounding off with a clash against Birmingham City.

"Our boys will also be flying the South African flag in this tournament and I take this opportunity to wish them God's traveling mercy," says Amakhosi MD Kaizer Motaung.

"By participating in the tournament not only will they get exposed to a big international stage but this is in line with one of our objectives - that of globalizing the brand of Kaizer Chiefs."

There are 52 teams from 19 countries in this competition, which has been divided into three sections - Elite, Premier and Junior Tournaments. The games will be played in 15 venues around Northern Ireland.

The main attraction will be the Elite Tournament that features teams like Brazil, Paraguay, Poland, Scotland, USA and Denmark. This section of the tournament will be divided into two groups of four.

Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Gary Neville, David Beckham and Paul Scholes are some of the players tohave featured in past Milk Cup competitions.
