Development Coach, Johannes ‘Ryder’ Mofokeng has expressed his satisfaction after Chiefs U17 qualified for the Engen Tournament to be held in Johannesburg in September.

Engen Knockout Challenge was held at Milpark Grounds last weekend with the young Chiefs drawing one and winning four games.

“We are pleased with the progress. We came up against good teams in the likes of Stars of Africa and the young lads did extremely well. Young striker, Yusuf Bunting and midfielders, Karabo Moremoholo and talented Ally Mohamed gave a very good account of themselves. “

“At this level the focus is developing players and it is never about results. The boys were also motivated by the presence of senior team Assistant Coach, Doctor Khumalo who spent more than an hour talking to them,” added Ryder Mofokeng.

Other Chiefs U17 players who featured during the tournament were: Mpho Mathega, Jimmy Maredi, Sibusiso, Duze, Nkonzo Duma, Patel Faraan, Sizwe Mavuso (Captain), Pule Modutoane, Ntsikelelo Ntsokontsoko, Kholofelo Matona, Jack Mazibuko, Sbonelo Ndela, Mzambo Yaka
