Kaizer Chiefs (2) 3 (Letsholonyane 5’ 38’, Majoro 97’)
Moroka Swallows (1) 2 (Chabangu 33’, Chenene 59’)
Lehlohonolo Majoro secured a stoppage time winner for Kaizer Chiefs as they went on to break Moroka Swallows’ hearts in a 3-2 victory at Soccer City to continue their undefeated run in the Absa Premiership.
Kaizer Chiefs as they converted a goal inside the seventh minute, Siphiwe Tshabalala set the pace with a run and pass down the flank, which met Lehlohonolo Majoro before Reneilwe Letsholonyane tapped home the cross from five-yards out.
Swallows’ first shot arrived 15 minutes into the game when Katlego Mashego flung in a free-kick which forced a great diving save from Itumeleng Khune.
The Dube Birds started to find some flight in their play and they did well to respond when Lerato Chabangu hit in a low drive, just after the half hour mark, from an unmarked position in the box after some build-up play from his teammates.
Their joy was short lived, however, when Yeye got his second of the night after he hit home a low effort from a defence splitting Bernard Parker assist, just five minutes later.
At the start of the second half, Lefa Tsutsulupa supplied a ball to Bennet Chenene. Chenene made a run into the box, where he rounded defenders before unleashing a shot at goal, but to his frustration his hard work was denied by a Khune save.
Swallows did get their second equaliser of the night when Giorgi Nergadze supplied a deep long ball, from inside his own half, to meet Chenene, who hit a snapshot home.
Stuart Baxter responded by bringing on Kingston Nkhatha and Siyabonga Nkosi, just minutes later, before Greg Etafia pulled off an excellent save with his right foot from a Tshabalala shot.
There was a collision between the Swallows shot-stopper and Nkosi, with ten minutes remaining, but they both managed to continue, whilst Gilbert Mapemba became the first player booked for Swallows.
Deep into injury time Majoro struck a last-gasp winner to break Swallows hearts and hand the Amakhosi all three points.
