Thomas ‘Rambo’ Sweswe has warned that there are more goals to come from him this season. This was after scoring a winner this past Sunday against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sweswe, one of the toughest central defenders in the league, was making his 70th appearance for the Club against Sundowns since joining back in August 2009.

“I was happy to score my first goal for Kaizer Chiefs and it was special that it was a winner in such a big game. It was a tough game playing Sundowns at Loftus, their home ground. We wanted nothing less than three points in Pretoria and I am happy that we achieved our goal as a team.

“We worked on this at training and I knew exactly where (Siphiwe) Tshabalala was going to put the free kick. I just had to time my run. I did not even know how to celebrate, just thanked the Almighty God.

Sweswe alongside debutant, Lincolin Zvasiya also did a good job in keeping both Nyasha Mushekwi and Katlego Mpela at bay; “Nyasha and Method (Mwanjale) who was on the bench on the day congratulated me on my first goal for the Club and of course the win.

“My first priority on the field is to stop goals being scored against us. I do think the goal has opened doors for me to score more goals for the team. I am sure I am going to get few goals this season,” he said jokingly adding that he would like to beat his countryman’s goal scoring record, Tinashe Nengomasha.
