This week, Friday, 11th April 2003 marks the second anniversary of the fateful Ellis Park disaster in which 43 football fans lost their lives in stampede before and during the big Soweto derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Preparations are underway for the memorial service to be held at the Ellis Park Stadium just outside gate 4 where most of the crushing happened.
