Four Kaizer Chiefs players have earned their places in the final South African Under-20 squad set to represent the country at the upcoming Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. First-team player Mfundo Vilakazi and development players Takalani Mazhamba, Gopolang Taunyana, and Sifiso Timba have made the cut, with Naledi Hlongwane named as one of four standby players.
South Africa are drawn in a tough group along with hosts, Egypt, Nigeria and Morocco. They will kick-off their campaign against Morocco on 30 April, followed by Egypt three day later, before wrapping up the group stage against Nigeria on 6 May. The four semi-finalists will automatically qualify to represent Africa at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, in September.
The Club extends its warmest congratulations to the players selected and wishes the team well at the tournament.
