kaizerchiefs.com has a look at the developments in the Bafana Bafana camp ahead of the team’s 2013 Africa Cup of Nations Quarterfinals Clash on Saturday, 2 February evening at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Bafana Bafana coach Gordon Igesund confirmed on Tuesday that Amakhosi striker Lehlohonolo Majoro who injured his shin during South Africa’s 2-0 victory over Angola in their second group game and as a result missed the draw with Morocco will train on his own until Thursday and is expected to be fit for the clash with the Malians.
Igesund also hinted that Amakhosi defender Siboniso Gaxa the only one of six Chiefs players in the Bafana Bafana squad not to have featured at the Nations Cup thus far could be drafted in to replace the suspended Anele Ngcongca who has started all three of South Africa’s game thus far, for the meeting with the Malians.
Igesund hinting at Gaxa’s possible inclusion said “everything happens for a reason. Anele is not available for our next match, Gaxa has been working hard at training and now his opportunity has arrived. Maybe he is the right player for this match; even if Anele was available I think I would have used Gaxa. I think things were meant to happen this way,"
