The 2006 Telkom Charity Cup was launched at the Zoo Lake in Parkhurst Johannesburg with a promise from the PSL and the sponsors, that as has been the case in the last six years the big winners will once again be the fans who will descend on the FNB Stadium on the 5th of August.

As well as the more than 400 charities that benefit from the PSL Telkom Charity Trust, as the league has set its sights on raising R3.2 million from this year’s event.

Supporters will be able to vote for their team by calling a designated number which for the Amakhosi is 086 22 33 708, as well as via SMS which can be done by sending and SMS to 34702 with the words ‘CHIEFS in the message’.

Which will automatically record a vote for The Amakhosi who will be aiming to do better in this year’s tournament than they did last year when they were eliminated in their opening game against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Supporters can also keep up to the minute tabs on how the voting is panning out by logging onto the official Telkom Charity Cup website at www.charitycup.co.za and view the voting results first hand. Tickets for the 2006 Telkom Charity Cup which takes place on the 5th August are priced at R30 for Adults and R25 for Juveniles. Vote lines close on the 28th July at midnight and the results of the voting will be made public on the 31st July.
