At the end of the final Group Game of the African Nations Cup there was a distinctly Amakhosi feel to proceedings as Chiefs' Zimbabwean midfielder Tinashe Nengomasha and his Ghanaian teammate from the Amakhosi Louis Agyemang met up with each other for the first time during their three week stay in Egypt.

When the final whistle went at the end of the Group D encounter where Nengomasha’s Zimbabwe triumphed 2-1 over Agyemang’s Ghana and narrowly missed out on qualification for the quarterfinals.

Agyemang rushed over to the centre of the pitch and helped his Chiefs team mate to his feet as the two exchanged greetings and shared in some lengthy banter before swopping jersey’s with each other. Nengomasha also demonstrated that Chiefs are close to his heart as he posed for pictures giving the traditional Chiefs Peace Sign Salute.

Nengomasha further showed that Chiefs were with him in spirit as he took off his Zimbabwean National team jersey to reveal one of the Nike Pro Performance under shirts, which were given to him by the Amakhosi prior to his departure for the nations cup.

Both Agyemang and Nengomasha’s respective countries suffered first round exits from the nations Cup but Zimbabwe did come close to qualifying for the quarterfinals and missed out by a single goal. The pair were expected to be back in Johannesburg early on Friday morning and are likely to miss out on the Amakhosi’s trip to Cape Town this weekend for a friendly game against Ajax on Sunday.

Chiefs' other nations cup participant Jimmy Tau who was doing duty with Bafana Bafana in Egypt returned to training on Thursday morning with the rest of the Chiefs team, Jimmy arrived back in the country on Wednesday morning from Egypt.
