“It felt good,” reflects Kaizer Chiefs’ Katlego ‘Killer’ Mphela about his goal against Edu Sports. It was the striker’s first official game since badly injuring his ankle in the MTN8 semifinal against Platinum Stars on 24 August 2014.
“I have been out for a long time,” continues Mphela, who scored the third goal (4-0 win) in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 encounter in the 84th minute. “Scoring the goal was a great confidence booster.”
Killer netted once, in the 92nd minute, in the 3-0 win over Platinum Stars. He got injured when scoring the goal.
“I will work even harder to get more goals,” promises Mphela. “It was amazing. I scored just before getting injured and now I got a goal soon after coming on as a substitute.” Then, Killer pauses for a second, before adding with a big smile: “Two goals in two games. That’s not bad.”
