Kaizer Chiefs Head Coach, Stuart Baxter, described the return to action of Morgan Gould: “It is good to have Morgan (Gould) back. A fit Morgan is more like a new signing. He is still 75% fit and we will be monitoring his progress.” Baxter gave the comment at the post match conference for the Gauteng Football Cup played on Sunday, 21 July 2013. Morgan marked his return to the Amakhosi line-up against Bloemfontein Celtic and has expressed his satisfaction to his progress of getting back to action;

“I didn’t have an off-season because of the rehab programme from the injury I sustained on the 6th of April 2013. I spent most of the time at the gym strengthening muscles but also made time to rest in the process.

The Camp was fantastic; it is always good to be with my teammates and to see everyone returning to work well and healthy. The job at hand is huge and we need to further the milestones we reached last season when we won the Double. We are all in agreement to live up to the challenges that lie ahead.

So far I have played in the practice matches against Mbabane Swallows of Swaziland and BidVest Wits where I began to open my mind and get back to match awareness. I felt comfortable in both matches. On the weekend we played in the Gauteng Football Cup, this is when it felt nice to be part and parcel of the match situation with the support from the crowd.

I brought my two sons Olwethu (3) and Uthando (5) along to witness the occasion. I want to broaden their horizon. To be part of the crowd and feel the stadium experience. After the game they walked onto the pitch and that brought smiles to them. They now want to become footballers when they grow up.

I would like to once more thank everybody involved at the Club and my family for the support they always give me. I hope for big and better things for the Team. Personally I am happy to get back to action and to remain humble with every opportunity I get to make a contribution.”
