Kaizer Chiefs had multiple aims and objectives when they embarked on the long journey to Bloemfontein in Mangaung.
The Technical Team wanted to keep the momentum and continuity after a good start to the 2012/13 season and also gather information on a number of players that have not featured regularly since the start of the season.
The players too, harboured team and individual goals and one such player Matthew Rusike spoke to kaizerchiefs.com about his feelings after he made his debut for the Gold and Black: “I am very excited that I was given a chance to play in this Cup Game. Albeit a friendly, the game was fast paced and the opposition was very determined to win the game in their backyard. I have been working very hard since my arrival at The Village at the start of the season.”
Rusike came on in the second half of the game to equalise to make the score 3-3 with a goal poacher’s instinctively taken shot which gave Celtic’s Dino Visser no chance. Bloemfontein Celtic won the game 4-3.
“I hope to continue working hard to regain full match fitness and hopefully contribute to Reclaiming the Glory!”; said the visible elated former Jomo Cosmos player.
