Khotso Moleko has vowed to continue fighting for his place in the team despite seeing less game time in Stuart Baxter’s side.

The former Bloemfontein right back who joined the Glamour Boys at the start of the season has found it tough at the Village with more experienced Siboniso ‘PSG’ Gaxa being a preferred choice for highly contested right back position.

Moleko however to his credit has worked hard and has been impressive during the Monday League games where he has played the right back, leftback and even a more advanced role as a wing.

Against Jomo Cosmos at Eldorado Park he had a sterling performance operating in the left wing and troubled the opposition defence with his trickery and pace.

“Right back is my preferred position,” he told kaizerchiefs.com with a smile.

“I am prepared to play anywhere for the team. It is important as a player to be versatile and I am ready to play wherever the Coach wants me to play.

“I have been working hard of course at training waiting for my chance. I try and give my best every time I get a chance to play even if it is in the Monday League. Games here are competitive as every team we meet wants to beat us,” continued the player who some at Eldorado Park have likened his runs on the right to those of former winger Arthur Zwane. Coincidentally, the soft spoken defender wears the no. 18 jersey that the man they use to call, “10111” used to wear during his heyday.

Moleko admitted that it has been difficult watching in the sidelines while his teammates have been doing the business on the pitch, “I was a regular at Celtic before I joined Kaizer Chiefs and at first it was really difficult not to make even the bench.

I get a lot of encouragement from my parents. I talk to them almost after every training session, Reserve League game – they have been very encouraging. It has also been encouraging to watch the team doing well. I just have to wait and grab my chance when it is presented to me,” added Moleko.
