The date for the much anticipated showpiece game between the Amakhosi legends and the Liverpool FC legends is getting closer. Kaizer Chiefs legend and Captain Cyril ‘Skhokho’ Nzama, expressed his anticipation for the match as scheduled for Saturday, 16 November 2013 at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Kickoff is at 14:00.
‘Skhokho’, capped for his country 44 times, did not seem to be perturbed by the list of The Reds legends featuring the likes of former defender Phil Neal, who won an astonishing 22 medals during his time at Anfield, former Kop favourite and England international John Barnes, twin strike sensations, John Aldridge and Robbie Fowler as well as Durban born goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar, are just some of the top names set for South Africa next month.
‘Skhokho’, multiple title winning former Chiefs fullback and 2005 Captain confidently wished the game was happening tomorrow; “This showpiece is a good initiative. The supporters will be spoilt to watch their legends. I cannot wait for the week of the game. So far we have been doing a lot of talking about the game through media interviews and that in itself is causing the excitememt.
The supporters will be taken down memory lane with Chiefs legends including the ‘Shibobo’ specialist and one time dribbling wizard Doctor ‘16’ Khumalo doing his magic on the day. The Amakhosi legends will include the rock at the back Lucas Radebe, midfield maestro John ‘Shoes’ Moshoeu and captain fantastic Neil Tovey.
I am 110% fit because I have not stopped training. I am super fit. The players like Robbie Fowler are a class act. As the saying goes, form is temporary but class is permanent, and this is how John Barnes and his legends are. The game will be a spectacle for the supporters,” said the Kaizer Chiefs’ 2013 Chairman’s Award recipient.
Tickets for the match are now on sale from all Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide and are priced at R45 (North and South stand – unreserved) and R90 (East and West stand – reserved).
