I want to be part of the winning team – Majoro

Lehlohonolo Majoro said the motivating factor behind his recent performances is that he wanted to be part of the winning team.

‘Wagga-Wagga’ as Majoro is affectionately known in football circles found it difficult to break in the team with Bernard Parker and Kingston Nkhatha doing well upfront for the Glamour Boys but he came as a sub against Bidvest Wits and Chippa United to score on both occasions.

“I joined the team because I wanted to be part of the winning team and all I want to do now is to grab every opportunity presented to me by the Technical Team,” said Majoro speaking to kaizerchiefs.com following a gruelling training session at Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena on Wednesday afternoon.

Majoro a graduate from University of Johannesburg revealed that the Coach had a word with him early in the season; “The Coach might have picked it up that I was feeling a little bit insecure as I was not seeing much game time in the team having done well last season.

This might have affected my effort in training but the Coach assured me that he will give me a chance and all I need to do is to grab it with both hands. (Bernard) Parker and (Kingston) Nkhatha have been doing well. There is still myself, Kaizer (Motaung JNR), Sthembiso Ngcobo and Sakhile Hlongwa on the side-lines and we are all encouraging each other.

“I am optimistic about the season. The team is doing well but then we cannot start celebrating because we have not won anything. I hope to score as many goals as I can but I have not put a number on the goals I am going to score this season. The most important thing is the team not my individual ambitions.

The former AmaZulu striker said he was not discouraged having been overlooked by Bafana Bafana new Coach, Gordon Igesund; “It is my ambition to be part of that 23 men that will be announced in January for the Africa Cup of Nations. I will continue giving my best in the Absa Premiership for my team and the rest will follow.”
