Isaacs who hails from Cape Town, is looking forward to coming up against one of his closest friends who happens to be a member of the Vasco set up and like Isaacs is a central defender.
Of the looming battle with his friend Isaacs said: “The Vasco defender Angelo Julius and I used to play together in the centre of defence for a team called Parkhurst in Mitchells Plain in Cape Town when we were young.
We have known each other since we were about twelve. I hope that both of us get to play on Saturday, as I would like to line up against him he has told me that he is up for playing against us.”
Julius aside Isaacs is pleased with the fact that Vasco have won promotion to the PSL and that Cape Town now have three teams in the top flight.
“It is really great for the city of Cape Town to have a trio of teams in the PSL.
For the fans it means they get to see more football every week, as a result the interest in the sport will grow.
Also there are many talented players who come from Cape Town and the surrounding areas, having a third team means that more of these players can become professional footballers.”
Isaacs has also stated that despite the game against Vasco being a personal derby for him, he is not thinking of the game in that way and is only focused on ensuring that Chiefs emerge from the game three points richer.
“I have nothing personal to gain from this game by winning the game, all I want is for us to win so that we can keep on accumulating points and keep the momentum that we have been building recently going. For us at the moment picking up wins is crucial and doing so again on Saturday is what we will be aiming for.”
