Amakhosi faithful in and around Alexandra came out in numbers to support the Kaizer Chiefs and Vodacom Roadshow which took place on Friday, 15 February at the Pan Africa Mall.

Lots of entertainment and giveaways were the order of the day. Supporters were able to buy authentic merchandise, apply for or renew their Supporters Membership Cards and also interact with the Kaizer Chiefs delegation spearheaded by the Marketing Director Jessica Motaung accompanied by the Corporate Communication Manager Vina Maphosa, Supporters Retail Manager Emmanuel Khumalo and other officials.

kaizerchiefs.com caught up with the Supporters Retail Manager, Emmanuel Khumalo; “Alexandra has never disappointed, it is always a pleasure to be here and witness such a big crowd gathered and enjoying themselves. We have definitely pushed the awareness of the brand and we saw the activation rubbing off on the attendance during the Saturday night game against Free State Stars. We also saw the supporters officialising their allegiance with the Gold and Black by signing for their new membership cards. We witnessed our Marketing Director Jessica Motaung interacting with the fans in particular the future Amakhosi, the kids, who were among the crowds and loved shooting pictures with her.

The Alexandra Supporters Branch Chairperson Thabo Lebuso had this to say; “The occasion was very good for us, the supporters, the results were good especially that this was on a Friday but the attendance on the ground and from the rafters of the Mall was spectacular. The activation galvanised support for the Free State Stars game. We want to express our gratitude to Kaizer Chiefs Management for the decision they took to visit us, this will go a long way to encourage more membership and support from Alexandra.

On Saturday 16 February 2013, Amakhosi went on to conquer Free State Stars (2-1) to return to the top spot of the ABSA Premiership log.

Love & Peace!
