The man, who pulled the strings for the South African national team during the Clive Barker golden era, has been invited by organisers of the Lucas Radebe Testimonial Game earmarked for Elland Road, Leeds in England on May 2.
"Yes," agreed Khumalo. "I have been contacted by organizers of the event on May 2 and a proposition was put on the table regarding a possibility of taking part in Radebe's testimonial match.
"However, nothing has been finalized yet. We are still discussing the matter and bear in mind that I am contracted to Kaizer Chiefs and I still need to discuss certain issues with the club's management first and a whole lot of other issues needs to be cleared up first and then we will take it from there.
"But in truth, it would be a great honour for me to take part in the match and I am really looking forward to the game," said the man who mesmerized spectators and opposition alike while turning out for the Kaizer Chiefs celebrity side against the Chiefs Legends at the Rand Easter Show last week.
Leeds United, a team Radebe served with distinction for 10 years, will play against a World All Stars team on the said date and proceeds from that game would be given to the former South African national skipper who also captained the Yorkshire team at the height of his career.
Radebe has already invited several other world class footballers to grace the occasion, among them Brazilian World Footballer of the Year Ronaldinho and African Footballer of the Year - Cameroonian Samuel Eto'o Fils.
There are also unconfirmed reports that former Leeds United players like Dutch forward Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Ghanaian Tony Yeboah could also be invited for the occasion.
Radebe's business manager Glyn Binkins has been working round the clock to organize another event in South Africa in conjunction with the South African Football Association to honour the man who earned 70 caps for his country and led South Africa to two World Cup finals.
