Head Coach Vladimir Vermezovic has revealed that Captain and goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune will be ready to play when the Glamour Boys square up against Jomo Cosmos at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
The Serbian born coach revealed to kaizerchiefs.com that the Ventersdorp born have been doing well during the practise matches the Club have been playing.
It was against Jomo Cosmos at Kings Park Stadium back in August 2007 that the Bafana Bafana goal minder made his long awaited debut for Kaizer Chiefs after being promoted to the senior side from the development at the age of 17 during 2004/2005 season.
“He has already shown during couple of practise matches that he will be ready when we play against Jomo Cosmos. He has been working very hard in training and I am satisfied with his progress.
Meanwhile, ‘VV’ as the Kaizer Chiefs mentor is affectionately known in football circles reiterated that Absa Premiership remains the Club’s priority going to the second half of the season.
“The first three games will be very important for us. Good start is as important as finishing well. This also makes the last five games of the season very important but we will take it one game at a time.
“Our focus now is on Jomo Cosmos in Port Elizabeth. They are not an easy side to play against and people should not even mention that they are on bottom of the league – that will count nothing when we meet come next Wednesday,” added Vermezovic.
