Kubeka, who was making his first appearance this season after a lengthy lay-off, was badly caught on the neck by Godfrey Sapula as he went for a high ball on 58 minutes and was quickly rushed to hospital.
"It was just a precautionary measure," said the Chiefs medical team. "He went for x-rays for a neck injury and was released straight away."
Other players in the treatment room are Arthur Zwane, who has just returned from a specialist for an abdominal muscle strain. He will be rested for six weeks and after that a decision will be taken on whether to operate or not.
Thabo Mooki and Phumlani Mkhize should start training this week while Shaun Permall is still on his road to recovery. Kenny Niemach is back at training but not doing ball-work yet.
