Kaizer Chiefs together with ticket web have agreed that two
swopping points should be set up on Saturday to give those people
who are far from Johannesburg a chance.
Chiefs PRO Putco Mafani said: "We are currently talking to the
Nasrec centre asking them to allow us to set up these points but if
that fail we will try other means.
"This is not an extension of the deadline in any way but we have to
be sensitive to our supporters who come from remote areas and were
unable to meet the cut off date yesterday (Wednesday). No swopping
will take place Thursday and Friday this plan is only for
Saturday."
Mafani said by the end of Wednesday 18 000 stubs had been exchanged.
"We are still expecting a few thousand people to come along and we
have to keep the promise we made on April 11 when we said people
must keep their tickets for a replay.
"At the same time we cannot bypass the security rule that no person
will be allowed into the stadium without a ticket. That is why it
is important to set up these points next to the stadium."
The replay is going to be played as a double header together with
the Bobsave Superbowl final at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
The original game was abandoned after 35 minutes of play because of
a stampede that led to the death of 43 people at the Ellis Park
Stadium.
The old tickets have to be exchanged with new ones. The ticket exchange can be done at the following outlets:
Nandos - Soweto Baraghwana
Ellis Park stadium - ticket booth
Civic Theatre - Braamfontein
Play House - Durban
Putco & Parkies the teams PRO's will be available to assist in any way. For more info please contact the KC Village on (011) 941-1465 & the Pirates offices on (011) 838-6868
The tickets were available from Monday. This exercise is fundamental in order not to create congestion @ the stadium on match day & for obvious security reasons.
To all Amakhosi & Buccaneers supporters, please make sure that if you are still in possession of your old ticket, you go & exchange it for a new one.
This is part of the Kaizer Chiefs communication plan for the derby match.
