George Lebese has singled out Head Coach, Stuart Baxter as the reason for his renewed confidence this season that has seen him being a regular starter at the Club.

The Mamelodi born stylish midfielder who has earned himself the nickname, ‘WhatsApp’ from kaizerchiefs.com also featured for Bafana Bafana against Poland in October.

“He is a coach that believes in me and believes that I have something to offer for the team,” said Lebese following a gruelling session at Kaizer Chiefs Village in preparation for the league fixture against Ajax Cape Town.

“I am grateful for the chance. I am just working hard and want to prove the Coach right, and produce every time I am given a chance."

"He spoke to me about areas I needed to improve on my game. He spoke to me a lot about my defending and I think I am defending quite better now. He also brought a spirit of teamwork for us to win games. We enjoy working with him as the players. The atmosphere is really good in the team right now," said Lebese.

Lebese said he was not really thinking about a call up to Bafana Bafana for Africa Cup of Nations; “I am focusing on doing well for Chiefs but I have to admit, I am looking at it with one eye."

"I would like to be part of the South African team that participates in the tournament but I am not getting ahead of myself,” added Lebese.
