Kaizer Chiefs winger George Lebese has been in scintillating form since the start of this season, having already netted six times in seven league and cup matches.

“As a player it feels good to contribute to the success of the team,” Lebese reacts. “It also shows that working hard pays off. At the start of every season, I set milestones for myself to reach. It has been work in progress.”

Lebese’s exploits have earned him praise from all quarters, including from Amakhosi coach Steve Komphela: “It is good to see George scoring goals from the left side of midfield. He is working hard and he fully deserves the accolades.”

The Chiefs winger won the 'Man of the Match' award thanks to his outstanding performance against SuperSport United. It was his second in as many weeks. He was also the recipient of the award in the MTN8 quarterfinal when Amakhosi brushed aside Maritzburg United.

“All this wouldn't be possible without working as a team,” Lebese concludes. “Credit must go to my teammates, because no single player can win a game on his own. It’s always the team that wins matches.”
