Kaizer Chiefs return to the Betway Premiership programme on this rainy Tuesday evening to face SuperSport United, after knocking Chippa United out of the Nedbank Cup round of 16 on Saturday at FNB Stadium.

The game will be the third meeting of the current season between these teams. They have already locked horns in the Black Label Cup and the first round of the league. Chiefs won the cup match 4-0, but lost the league match 1-0 in Polokwane.

Chiefs will be hoping to win their third game on the trot after cruising past Chippa United in the Nedbank Cup with a 3-0 score on Saturday. Before that game, Amakhosi beat Stellenbosch FC 1-0 away in Cape Town.

In the standings, Chiefs are sixth, with 25 points after 17 matches, while United are in position 12, with 17 points after as many games.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi will be delighted to have Yusuf Maart back in the team after he served a one-match suspension on Saturday. On the downside, midfielder Samkelo Zwane is suspended for tonight’s encounter after collecting his fourth yellow card.

In addition to Maart coming into the starting XI for Zwane, the coach has made one more change that will see Happy Mashiane make way for Bradley Cross.

Chiefs will again adopt a 4-3-1-2 formation for this evening’s match.

The keeper is Bruce Bvuma.

The backline will have Cross on the left, Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel in the middle, and last Saturday’s man-of-the-match, Reeve Frosler, is on the right.

The defensive midfielder is Maart, with Pule Mmodi and Thabo Cele just in front of him.

Up front will be the attacking duo of Tashreeq Morris and Glody Lilepo.

Maart reclaims the captain’s armband.

This referee this evening is Cedrick Muvhali. The two assistants are Xolani Hlatswayo and Thabo Thinane. The fourth official is Kgara Mokoena.

Amakhosi’s 18th league match of the season against Matsatsantsa will kick off at 19:30 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. The game is live on SuperSport’s PSL Channel 202 on DStv and various SABC radio stations - with regular updates of the match on X (Twitter) @KaizerChiefs.
