Amakhosi will be determined to capitalise on their recent uptick in form when they face SuperSport United in a Betway Premiership fixture at FNB stadium on Tuesday evening.

The weekend’s 3-0 victory over Chippa United took Amakhosi into the quarterfinals of the Nedbank Cup, this coming after they picked up three points in their previous league match as well, against Stellenbosch.

Defender, Happy Mashiane, is not getting carried away, though, and insists the team is maintaining total discipline and focus on every next match, without dwelling on what has gone before.

“Nobody can say playing against SuperSport is an easy game.” He tells www.kaizerchiefs.com, “We are working very hard behind the scenes in order to continue making progress.”

“The mood in the camp is good,” he adds, “We have some new players who recently came in and they bring a different dimension to the team from their experiences playing football in other parts of the world. We know Tashreeq (Morris) has been around. (Thabo) Cele and ((Glody) Lilepo have come from overseas and brought their experience to us. They are integrating into the setup nicely.”

With the sudden departure of Thatayaone Ditlhokwe to Libya, Mashiane was drafted into the starting line-up at left-back and delivered an impressive performance, which pleased him.

“Obviously, I hadn’t played a lot in a while,” he admits, “So coming back into that big game was a big motivation for me. I had to go in and give my best. With the guidance of the coach and his technical staff, I felt confident and it turned out great.

“Personally, I am doing everything I can to give the coach what he wants from me.”

He expressed particular gratitude for the Amakhosi Faithful , whose vibrant passion in the stands has been a notable uplifting factor in the Club’s recent improvement in form.

“I want to thank our wonderful fans for always being there for us. We love how they cheer us up with encouragement and we will really appreciate a big turnout at FNB to support us against SuperSport. It really helps us. Without them, we are nothing,” he says in conclusion.

Tickets for the match between Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United will kick off at 19:30 FNB Stadium on Tuesday.

Tickets are on sale through www.ticketpro.co.za or at Spar and Boxer Supermarkets as well as Sasol filling stations at R60 per ticket.
