Eric ‘Tower’ Mathoho received a late call up to the national team following the injury to Siyabonga Sangweni and will join the team in Cape Town later on Monday. This was confirmed by the South African Football Association today.

Mathoho, who missed the Africa Cup of Nations due to injury, has been solid as a rock for the Glamour Boys alongside Morgan Gould and Tefu Mashamaite and earning them a nickname from kaizerchiefs.com of ‘Three Towers’.

Meanwhile, Tsepo Masilela has been withdrawn from the squad to face Central African Republic this coming Saturday in a crucial World Cup qualifier in Cape Town due to an injury.

Captain Itumeleng Khune, Bernard Parker, Morgan Gould, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Reneilwe Letsholonyane joined up with their Bafana Bafana teammates following their return from Durban where Chiefs were playing against Polokwane City in the Nedbank Cup last 16.
