South Africa's most glamorous soccer side, Kaizer Chiefs have signed two of the top Bafana Bafana players, former Bush Bucks and Supersport striker and goal hunter Patrick Mayo and one of the most celebrated masterminds in the midfield, former Moroka Swallows engine room Jabulane Mendu.

Rumors and speculations had been rife about these players and the club is pleased to announce their signings.

"This revelation is only a tip of an iceberg, more are still coming, but we are very excited at the prospects of having secured these players. This is in line with our objectives for the coming season to bring home the Premiership title and restore the culture of Kaizer Chiefs - that of winning everything on offer.

"Both players have been dying to wear the Gold and the Beautiful jersey and we are confident their contribution will bring us closer and closer to our rightful position, that is, the championship," said a confident Team Manager, Bobby Motaung.

Enterprising Chiefs reserve side players Junior "Aghahowa" Khanye and Ntokozo "Koloba" Sikhakhane who are both midfielders have been promoted to the first team, in a move that will see the club's youth development academy, once more producing another breed of gifted players that follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jabu Pule, Isaac Mabotsa, Kaizer Motaung Jr, Gerald Sibeko, Nhlanhla Kubeka, Skapi Malatsi and many others.

In another development Motaung said Kelvin Mushangazike, Justice Sithole and Nhlanhla Mathebula have been placed on transfer, whilst offers have been pouring in, at the club's world class headquarters in Naturena for the services of Lucky Maselesele, Shaun Permall, Thabiso Malatsi, Martin Carelse, Peter Matshitse and Mozambican left winger Josias Macamo. All these players are also most likely to be transferred.

Two more big name international players will be announced next week Tuesday, 10 June 2003, at 11H00, when club chairman Kaizer Motaung addresses what will be arguably the most anticipated press conference, to announce the club's technical developments and preparations before the Vodacom Challenge, the World Peace King Cup and the new Premier Soccer League season.
