Mbombela Tourism Explosion Football Challenge called off

The much anticipated preseason match between Ismaily Sporting SC and Kaizer Chiefs that was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 13 July 2013 is cancelled, revealed the Office of the Municipal Manager, Mbombela Local Municipality.



According to the Media Release (09 July 2013) from Mbombela Local Municipality, Office of the Municipal Manager;



“The Mbombela Local Municipality, regrettably informs all the soccer lovers that the proposed match between Kaizer Chiefs FC and Ismaily Sporting SC from Egypt, as the main event of the Mbombela Tourism Explosion has been cancelled due to the political instability in Egypt. The municipality would not like to sell tickets only to find that flights are unable to take off from Egypt at the last moment.”



Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs is currently at camp in Mpumalanga and will participate in the Gauteng Sports Challenge Final: 2013 Gauteng Football Cup on 21 July 2013 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. The reigning Gauteng Sports Challenge Champions, Amakhosi, will play in the final against the winner between Bloemfontein Celtic and Pretoria University. Celtic will lock horns with the TUKS at 10:00 and the winner will face off against the Glamour Boys at 15:00. Tickets for the one-day Sports Challenge are available at Computicket nationwide at R35.



Next in the preseason line-up will be the 2013 Carling Black Label Cup, Soweto Derby between arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates on 27 July 2013.
