The saga surrounding Fabian McCarthy has been put to bed after Sundowns dropped their protest on Friday against Kaizer Chiefs fielding the former Downs player.
The Mamelodi side had initially protested that Chiefs had played McCarthy before he was properly registered.
The two sides played their first and second round league matches - a 0-0 draw at Loftus and 0-2 loss at Rustenburg - under protest, after Sundowns claimed McCarthy had not received official clearance.
The matter though has now been settled and will require no further arbitration.
