The meeting held with the supporters at Mecure Hotel in Nelspruit was an overwhelming success declared Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung speaking to kaizerchiefs.com on Wednesday morning.

The well attended meeting was addressed by Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung, Supporters Relations Manager, Cecil Motaung, Retail Manager Emannuel Khumalo and Corporate Communications Manager Thebe Mohatle.

Branding and Marketing Coordinator, Thato “PRO” Matuka together with the Supporters Club also attended the meeting that addressed issues relating to counterfeit, branch governance, demarcation, Kaizer Chiefs Media Properties, awareness of the newly opened Amakhosi Store at Naturena and most importantly the meeting gave the supporters an opportunity to air their concerns and compliments.

“We are pleased with the progress in Mpumalanga. There is still a lot of improvement but I have no doubt that after this meeting things are going to improve. People here are passionate about Kaizer Chiefs and the attendance in this meeting demonstrated their love for the Club,” said Cecil Motaung who has earned himself the nickname Chief.

Manyovu Mnisi from Greater Nelspruit Branch paid tribute to the Club for the initiative, “It was very important for Kaizer Chiefs to come and address us. We as supporters in Mpumalanga have been longing for this opportunity.

The meeting itself was a success. One of the things we addressed was the issue of booing of players. This is against the spirit of the game and it will not be tolerated. We will be going back to our members and make sure we uproot this behaviour.

I think Chiefs should consider coming to the Province again to address other issues. We would also like to see the Club bringing other games here as people here are passionate about the Club.

I have no doubt that on Wednesday we are going to fill the stadium and cheer our team on at this crucial stage of the season,” said the visibly delighted Manyovu.

An equally pleased Jessica Motaung thanked the supporters for coming through, “The supporters form a backbone of the Club and we have made it our business this season to go around the country to interact with them.

We are pleased with the progress in here…it is unfortunate that we are restricted in terms of bringing games to this province. I would like to thank you all for taking this opportunity to attend the meeting,” she said.

The Kaizer Chiefs crew on Wednesday morning is at Nelspruit Plaza Taxi Rank to create more awareness about the brand and supporters who have been longing to buy Kaizer Chiefs merchandise can come through. The Supporters Team is also there to register and renew membership.
